The faculty members of this college are engaged in extensive research work. Ten UGC-sponsored minor research projects are being pursued currently by the faculty members of various departments. Several among the faculty are in the process of completing their Ph.D programs in various universities. In the last few years research articles have been published by our faculties in 68 international and 173 national reputed journals.
All the departments of the college organize seminars by their students. The aim is to enhance oratorical and presentation skills of the students. Besides these departmental seminars, various departments also organize inter-disciplinary state-level seminars sponsored by the UGC and other agencies. In last few years BGC has organized several state-level seminars with the sponsorship of the UGC.
The study circle of BGC was formed in the year 2005 by the college faculty in order to exchange their views and knowledge in different fields. Study circle lectures are organized at regular intervals by resource persons from faculties of the college, sometimes from outside and it cuts across the rigid boundaries of subjects. Enthusiastic participation of the students from different disciplines creates an ideal scenario to take academics outside the restricted syllabus-oriented approach.
