ELECTION NOTICE

As per the Model Guidelines for holding election to Students’ Union in colleges for the year 2012-13 under Barrackpore Subdivision provided by the office of the S.D.O. GOWB vide Memo no. 245(20)/Con/BKP dated 24.1.13, the following instruction are to be carried out during the course of election.

• At the time of submission of nomination paper withdrawal of nomination paper, scrutiny of nomination paper and on the day of election student must produce current year identity card to enter into the college.
• All campaign must be completed before the date of filling of nomination papers.
• No student will be allowed to enter the college premises after 12.30 p.m. on the date of Poll i.e. 09.02.13.
• On the date of poll nobody apart from the eligible voters, officials including teaching & non teaching staff of the college will be allowed to come within 100 meters of the college.
• Once the vote is cast each student must leave campus in no time. In case the voter is a candidate, he should wait in the specified room.
• No one except the members of the Election Council will be allowed to enter in the college premises with mobile phones on the date of poll. If at the time of checking at the gate, any mobile phone is found, it is to be deposited to the police.

ELECTION SCHEDULE OF CLASS REPRESENTATIVES TO “STUDENTS’ UNION, BHAIRAB GANGULY COLLEGE”, KOLKATA-700056, FOR THE YEAR 2012-13

The “Election Council” in its meeting held on 18.01.13 at 2:00 p.m. recommends the Programme for Election to the Students’ Union, Bhairab Ganguly College for the year 2012-13as indicated below:

1. Publication of Draft Voters’ List on 21.01.13 at 12 noon
2. Objection on Draft Voters’ List to be placed to Election Council in prescribed Objection Form on 22.01.13, 24.01.13 & 28.01.13 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Objection Forms will be available from the office of the Election Council.
3. Hearing will be conducted at the time of submission of objection.
4. Publication of Final Voters’ List on 28.01.13 after 2:00 p.m.  (Notification on number of seats in each class will be published simultaneously)
   A) Nomination Forms and Withdrawal Forms will be available from the Office of the Election Council between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.  on 30.01.13.
   B) Nomination Forms and Withdrawal Forms will also be available from the College Website on the same day between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
5. Dates and time of submission of Nomination forms along with Xerox copies of College ID Cards issued during the current session, between 12 noon and 3 p.m. on 31.01.13  & 01.02.13.
   (No student will be allowed to enter the election office for submission of nomination forms after 3 p.m.)

   In case of uncontested situation the election of 10 office bearers from the class representatives will be held on 05.02.13 at 12 noon in Room No. 212.
10.  Date of election by secret ballot: On 09.02.13 Voting will commence from 12:45 p.m. No student will be allowed to enter in College premises after 12:30 p.m. on the date of poll. All the eligible voters (students) must enter the respective class rooms to take seats allotted to them for casting their votes positively by 12:40 p.m. Results will be declared after the poll on the same date.  In case of tie there will be recounting. Again, if there is a tie, there will be toss for selection of Class Representatives.
11. Election of 10 Office bearers from the elected Class Representatives will be held on 11.02.13 at 12 noon in Room No. 212.
    All elected Class Representatives are requested to assemble in Room No. 212 at the above-mentioned time and date without fail. The aforesaid election will be conducted by the Election Council and in case of contest the result will be ascertained by counting the number of supporters for each of the proposed candidates from among the class representatives who will be asked to raise their hands in support of the candidates of their choice.
